Terms of Service

This page provides a general overview of how I work and what clients can expect when commissioning photography services. It is intended to offer clarity and transparency prior to any formal quotation or agreement.

Full contractual terms, including licensing and usage rights, are provided with every written quotation and formal agreement.

1. Scope of Services

I provide commissioned photography services across a range of subjects, including but not limited to creative portraiture, automotive photography and railway-related work.

All commissions are undertaken with professional care and creative discretion. While specific requirements may be discussed in advance, the final imagery reflects my photographic style, judgement, and working method unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. Enquiries & Booking Process

All commissions follow a structured process:

No booking is confirmed until the commission has been agreed in writing. Commercial and corporate clients will be issued a formal contract prior to the shoot.

3. Quotes, Agreements & Confirmation

Written quotations outline the scope of work, deliverables, fees, payment terms and licensing arrangements. Acceptance of a quotation constitutes acceptance of the agreed scope and associated terms.

Where applicable, a formal agreement will be issued and must be accepted and signed before work commences.

4. Payment Terms

Payment terms are stated clearly on all quotations and invoices.

Invoices must be paid in accordance with the stated terms
Late payment may delay image delivery
Usage rights are not granted until payment has been received in full

Commercial usage prior to payment is not permitted.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

If a shoot needs to be cancelled or rescheduled, reasonable notice is appreciated. Cancellation terms, including any applicable fees, are outlined in the quotation or agreement.

Where shoots are affected by weather, access restrictions, illness, or other circumstances outside either party’s control, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule where possible.

6. Creative Process & Editing

All delivered images are fully edited and supplied in my established photographic style.

Minor colour and exposure consistency adjustments are included
Additional re-editing or stylistic changes may be chargeable
Requests for alternative editing styles outside my usual approach may be declined

Creative decisions, including composition and selection, form part of the commissioned service.

7. Image Delivery

Final images are delivered digitally via an online download or gallery, unless otherwise agreed.

Typical delivery timescales are discussed during the booking process. While every effort is made to meet agreed timelines, delivery may be affected by workload, revision requests or unforeseen circumstances.

Image files are archived for a limited period after delivery; long-term storage is not guaranteed unless agreed separately.

8. RAW (unprocessed) Files

RAW image files are not supplied as standard.

Final delivered images represent the completed photographic work. Any exception to this must be agreed explicitly in writing prior to the shoot.

9. Usage, Licensing & Copyright

Images are licensed for use, not sold outright. Permitted usage, duration, territory, and any restrictions are detailed in the individual licence issued with each commission.

Commercial use, publication, or redistribution outside the agreed licence is not permitted without prior written consent.

10. Liability & Responsibilities

All reasonable care is taken during shoots; however, I cannot be held responsible for factors outside my control, including but not limited to weather conditions, access limitations, third-party restrictions or subject availability.

Unless otherwise agreed, clients are responsible for securing any necessary permissions, access rights, or consents required for the shoot location or subject matter.
